Fort Worth Star Telegram’s Barnett Shale Blog—Read about other neighborhoods who have already negotiated deals or are in the process of negotiations. If you are not a resident of NRH or Watauga, this is a good place to start to find out whether a group is already forming in your neighborhood. Other information available here includes information regarding gas companies, brokers, how to organize your neighborhood, and negotiating lease details, such as subordination.
Texas Land & Mineral Owners Association– The TLMA is the only organization in Texas working exclusively to protect the rights of land and royalty owners. Their LINKS page contains very useful and informative resources, such as articles about negotiating gas leases, clauses to include, legal information about royalty payments, etc., all written by attorneys.

While they will not become involved in leases or royalty payments, the website is a valuable resource as it contains searchable production data, query reports, copies of permits and applications, well counts, an interactive map displaying all wells and pipelines, etc. - Public GIS Map Viewer for Oil, Gas, and Pipeline Data - Production Data Query System

Tarrant County Public Records– Search for leases signed in your community by placing the property owner’s name in the “Grantor” field and then looking for documents called “Lease.” You will need to first search the Tarrant Appraisal District website to make sure you are looking at the correct property based on the legal description of the property (Lot, Block, Subdivision).
Fort Worth League of Neighborhoods Gas Drilling Resource Page– Various resources gathered by the FWLNA as they have assisted Fort Worth neighborhoods with gas leases. Many good resources here. Some of the links toward the top of the page provide little or no help, but if you scroll to the bottom half, from “Articles” on down, the information is very useful.
