How You Can Help

Joining mineral rights owners in North Richland Hills and Watauga

for the common goal of negotiating favorable gas leases.

NRH Mineral Owners Alliance (“NRHMOA”)

There are several ways you can help promote this group:

             - Talk to your neighbors and explain why they should not sign a lease yet.  Ask them to join our group.
- We know that there are many residents without internet access or e-mail accounts.  If you know someone in this category, please help keep them informed.  You can volunteer to print out our website pages and let them read them in print and bring them printed updates whenever there is important news to share.
- Print out flyers and distribute in your neighborhood, or even another neighborhood that doesn’t yet have representation.  Actually, print them and distribute them anywhere that you can.  Here is a flyer that you can use or modify (
Word) (PDF).
- If you have your own website, place a link on your website directing people to this website.
- If you are on MySpace or Facebook, send out a bulletin and post a link in your profile directing others to this website
- Talk to the business owners in your area.  Often, businesses, especially churches, own a large tract of land.  If those businesses also join our group, we strengthen our negotiating power.

Promote This Group

We do not yet have representation from all subdivisions in our area.  If you are able to be a spokesperson for your subdivision, or perhaps even just a few streets, we need you!

Being a spokesperson requires a commitment to the following:

             - Be actively involved in promoting our group and growing our membership base.  This may include distributing flyers, attending signing parties to catch homeowners before they go in to sign a gas lease, posting a sign in your yard when possible, and any other promotion ideas you have.
- Keep up-to-date on the news posted on the website and the Yahoo! Groups page and share news with the group that you represent.
- Attend spokesperson meetings where we will discuss the direction of NRHMOA and negotiations with the gas companies.  We will try to be accommodating with meetings and will be as considerate of your time as possible.
- Hold meetings or host informal “meet-and-greet” types of meetings for the group that you represent.  This may require that you find someplace to hold meetings.  Ideas are local schools, community centers, churches, and other local rooms that you can bargain to use for free.
- Be willing to be listed as a contact person for your area on this website and on handouts.  We will try to direct people to this website and to communicate through the Yahoo! Group page and e-mail, but some people will inevitably prefer to use the phone or will need to do so out of necessity.
- If you cannot do this on your own, but can form a small group in your area, this is acceptable.  You can then designate duties and meeting attendance among your leadership group as necessary.

If you decide to volunteer your time as a leader, we will provide you with as much support as possible, such as providing an Excel spreadsheet of all properties in your subdivision (or other area you decide to lead) and in any other way we can.

Be a Spokesperson or Leader

Each group, as well as the leaders, will need both small and large places to hold meetings, and, ultimately, signing parties.  If you can offer a large or medium sized room during evenings or weekends at no charge, please let us know.

Obtain or Provide a Meeting Location

If you can offer to help in any way, please e-mail help@nrhminerals.com

If you have experience in legal documentation, oil-and-gas leases, or public relations, please contact us to volunteer your services free of charge.  We are interested in speaking to attorneys, public speakers, people experienced in this process from providing assistance in other neighborhoods, and others.
